Our Caldera is made from 100% Falanghina grapes grown without chemicals or pesticides in the hills of Campania. Nearby Mount Vesuvius' violent explosions have released more than 100,000 times the thermal energy of an atomic bomb. The explosions have created Campania's geological identity. Claudia Wu has reimagined that smoke and ash on out label.
"Falanghina is Campania’s oldest white grape variety, and has been a huge success story over the last 30 years, helping revive white winemaking in hot southern Italy. This is a great example: fresh and crisp, with lots of acidity, held together with a weighty structure and a gripping, saline texture, together with green apple, citrus, orange blossom, and almond aromas. A refreshing wine on its own, but an extremely good food wine too: think white fish or seafood."
