Ampeleia is one of the rising stars in the Tuscan coast. The estate owns a variety of plots of land located far apart at different altitude levels in the Maremma area. The variety of micro-climates and soil types gives each vineyard a distinctive identity, and the Ampelia project aspires to create wines that reflect this variety. Alicante Nero is a common Mediterranean variety also known as Grenache in France, Cannonau in the neighbouring island of Sardinia, and as Garnacha in Spain. The grapes are sourced from a single vineyeard of sandy soil rich in pebbles. Aged in steel tanks for 6 months. Light with a very slight effervescence; aromas and flavors of strawberries, raspberries, and a little bit of earthiness. Very enjoyable with a light chill.
